As a general medical practitioner with many years of experience, I have attended many individuals and their families confronted with illness and dying. In retirement, I have supported friends and relatives through their end-of-life struggles and often witnessed how unfamiliar and unprepared we are for the inevitable. We struggle with sadness, anger and despair. We yearn to be soothed, loved and cradled or we may be full of anguish and fear for those who will be left behind.
Feeling drawn to continue to assist others professionally and non-medically, I have retrained as an end-of-life Doula to help individuals in a practical, thoughtful, good-humoured and caring way as they approach their death, and am also committed to support their intimate circle through this challenging time.
I have had additional training in hypnotherapy and counselling and more recently completed a certificate in psychedelic assisted psychotherapy. Volunteer on Griefline .org.au/p>
