Hello, a sincere thank you for your interest in the End of Life Doula Model of Care. I am so privileged to share with you my real life experiences and quality theory and training achieved with Preparing The Way, Quality of Life Care USA and Zenith Vorago. My goal is to cultivate trust and awareness EOLD can significantly improve the quality and dignity of the end of life journey. Perhaps you need the strength of a grounding force, or my mere presence as emotional support, perhaps someone to navigate medicalised systems in line with your wishes – at all times I have your back. I will always join you were you are at, I am not here to fix, you are the expert in your life, I will enter with curiosity and will do what I can at your invitation. When you feel like there is too much chatter and noise facing your terminal illness, I will be your person who will always listen – the key to serving with a Doula heart in being able to be helpful and response-able. Walking beside you, with practical experience and knowledge on the gaps and how to bridge pathways between acute care, palliative care, aged care and hospice systems for you and family. I maybe able to help with all sorts of end of life matters that are important to you personally. Creating formal end of life wishes, build wealth of resourcing links, quality after death care details, pre funeral planning and knowing the practicalities on topics no one wishes to talk about, especially if you or someone you love are fighting for life. I have time, Doula time – creating a continuity of care, an an umbrella that protects and brings all the pieces under one banner, one goal and that’s helping build confidence, control and peace. Where often there is none. It’s important for people to be honoured and resourced living well while dying.
My practice is in Melbourne’s North where I run public health education in community on death, dying and bereavement, serve elders as an aged care advocate and provide support to my circle as an independent funeral advocate and celebrant. I am a Peer Support Volunteer at Dying with Dignity Victoria and currently engaged in Australia’s first VAD Grief Support Group pilot partnering with Griefline. I also provide Cooling Blanket and Cooling Plate Hire to support people who wish to have a longer goodbye and after death vigils. I do hope this directory page has been a soft place to land.
