As an End of Life Doula, my desire is to help people to have a good death. That means we need to know what people want which requires a conversation. Following the recent death of my father, my mother
and siblings were so grateful to have had a conversation with him several years
earlier. At 90 years of age and in poor health for the last 10 years of his life, his death was expected, but as we knew what he wanted, we were able to deliver a beautiful experience for him at home with his family. In talking to friends after this celebration of his life, I realised that this type of experience was not as common as it
should be, and I wanted to be part of making that happen.
